Subject:  *Kernal Integrity

I tried some corn today and it tested 30% with a 49.4 test weight.  I split a few kernals apart and found less than normal hard endosperm which I guess is the reason for the light weight.  Has anyone else found this to be true?  Will this mean a lower protein kernal and also a higher starch kernal?  How does stuff like this work with an ethanol plant yieldwise.  Are the DDGS any good or is there much DDGS from them?  The kernals lack the normal deeper yellow and are more pale in color.

I posted this on Market Talk also but  it probably belongs here more.
