Hey guys, I'm a young farmer and I want to put soybeans in next year. I share equipment with my dad and I'm worried that we'll have a real crunch when it comes to getting the crops in next spring. I was wondering, what would be a good older planter to run beans with? I'll be using a 85hp tractor (AC-185) and would like to put in 20'' rows but would also go 30'' if it turns out to be easier. I have heard about JD 7100 bean planters but have never seen one/ seen specs on one. I would like to stay with JD (7000-7200) as there seems to be more aftermarket parts for them (our JD corn planter is really a Precision/Yetter rig) and was wondering if guys had success planting beans with these older machines. I would like to keep expense under 10 grand including any updates/ repairs that need to be done. Thanks and good luck!
