Are you aware that a bill passed the house that would ban horse slaughter nationwide and that would prevent the export of US horses to other countries for slaughter.  We have over 9 million horses in the United States.  Anyone that has any involvement with horses, knows how much the ban to slaughter horses in the United States, has hurt the value of horses.  If an animal has little value, it will not be taken care of as well. 

We all know that a horse is going to be more humanly treated if it is slaughered here in the US than shipped to Mexico. 

Our country needs the money that horses and all the additional items associated with them provide.  How in the world are we going to dispose of 9 million horses and all the rest that are born each year if we are not allowed to slaughter them?  Please contact your Senator and advise him to use some common sense.
