My local wireless cable TV company was told by the FCC that the spectrum is to be used for Broadband applications. So what that means for me is that I have to figure out what to do as far as being able to watch TV. I have until July, 2010. I am looking at Dish Network. (Several people have told me that Direct TV may start out cheap but continually increase their prices.) The other thing that I am considering is getting a Converter Box, a digital TV antenna and I would have to get either a new TV and/or VCR/DVD. My TV is ancient and my VCR is a 2004 model. I am always recording a program on lets say ABC, but am watching a program on lets say CBS at the same time. No matter how I look at it, it is going to be lots more $ out of my pocket (Thank you government!). If I decide to get an antenna, then I would be risking my son's life (I have been a widow since I was 45--11 years ago) by having him climb on my tall tower that looks over my 2 story home with a steep roof. A storm took down my previous antenna and that is when I decided to go with this local company at that time because they offered my local stations for a little over $27 a month.
Any suggestions or advice is welcomed.
May everyone have a safe harvest--it sure has been a slow one with corn drying taking forever.
